Analyst in the Loop just got an upgrade
Same team, same mission, bringing you the latest on AI agents and trends

We have some news - and genuinely, it's the good kind.

When we launched Analyst in the Loop, we were the team behind ClimateAligned - a sustainability data company helping debt investors make sense of climate disclosures. We started writing this newsletter because we were living the same tension you were: trying to figure out how AI actually fits into serious, rigorous analytical work. Not the hype. The reality.

That tension hasn't gone away. But what AI agents can actually do - right now, in real workflows - has changed dramatically. And that's what this newsletter is increasingly about: how to work with agents, not just alongside AI tools. How to delegate to them, trust them, push them, and know when they fall short. We've been running agents inside our own team for months. We're going to keep sharing exactly what that looks like.

What's new

Analyst in the Loop is now brought to you by Arctal - the company ClimateAligned has become.

Fresh look. New colour scheme. The Arctal name behind everything we publish. And more resources coming: we're actively upgrading tools and content, including improvements to the footprint tool many of you use regularly. Things you've asked for are on the way.

The reason we could make this leap is the same reason the newsletter has been getting more interesting: AI has genuinely changed what a small, rigorous team can build and ship. Arctal is built around AI agents that continuously ingest documents, extract material signals, and produce validated datasets at a scale that wasn't possible before. Analyst in the Loop is where we document what that actually looks like in practice - the tools, the workflows, the honest takes.

What's staying

The team. The mission. The editorial voice.

Krista, Aleksi, and the analysts who've been with ClimateAligned from the start are still writing this. We're not handing it to a content team or an AI. The ClimateAligned website, tools, and footprint data stay live at climatealigned.co - and as mentioned, they're getting better too.

Why now

We started because analysts deserved better data and better tools - and because the gap between what was possible and what most people had access to was frustrating. AI has narrowed that gap dramatically, and Arctal is our bet on closing it further.

This newsletter has always been us thinking out loud as we go through that transformation ourselves. That's not stopping. If anything, there's more to say.

The best issues are ahead. Thanks for being here from the start.

~ Krista & the Arctal team
